Research and development of new feed additives
All over the world, the market of feed additives is slowing down. On the one hand, global recession has considerably reduced the funds for Scientific Research (which is almost always carried out by big Pharmaceutical or Chemical Companies). On the other hand, it is increasingly important to ensure the safety of foods and the healty of consumers. This has considerably reduced the number of additives allowed and their use (this applies to older products that have been on the market for much time). It is important to keep up to date with the worldwide Scientific Research and lead to new products. Before being marketed, these additives have to be tested in Italy, where the situation is very different from the rest of Europe and the rest of the world.
Field testing of new additives.
All new additives, before entering the Italian Zootechnical Market, must be field tested in Italy, where there are a lot od differences in the kind of feed, in the managmente, in the climate and in the kind of traditional Italian production system (the mosto famous are Parma ham and Parmiggiano Reggiano cheese). Special tests must be performed to verify that new supplements are effective and economically feasible to use. To this end, Cevolani Daniele Team can supply the animals and the facilities required to perform all the tests needed to assess the effectiveness and the economic feasibility of supplements of any kind (if necessary it will to work jointly with University).
Registration of new feed additives.
The registration of a new feed additives is a very expensive process that must comply with directive EC/428/ 2008 (May), which lists the specific measures needed to obtain the authorisations for the use of additives in compliance with directive (EC) 1831/2003. It also lists the procedures to issue a new authorisation for supplements registered in compliance with directive 70/524/CE. A re-authorisation is required to assess if the compound (authorised in compliance with directive 70/524/CE and on the market for a long time) can still be considered safe for animals, humans and the environment. Cevolani Daniele Team, working with prestigious Universities of Veterinary Medicine and Agricultural Sciences, can provide assistance to the Companies that wish to obtain a new authorisation or an expanded authorisation for previously used additives.
Market research deals with the study and analysis of consumer behavior and decision-making processes: they are therefore a valuable source of information for those who produce goods or services and have to take marketing decisions related to the sale or development of commercial networks. The Italian livestock market is characterized by a considerable amount of raw data derived from both public (ISMEA, ISTAT, EUROSTAT etc.) and private entities (ASSALZOO and others): these data can be used to obtain information on the actual geographical consistency of the livestock but they do not give access to the commercial distribution of the Animal Feed & Premix sectors. Many changes occurred within the industry over the past few years. How many any farms are there in Italy? What are the areas with the highest concentration of animals How many and what are the companies that produce feed or premixes? Is the Italian market a saturated market or are there spaces for growth?
To answer these questions, we prepared an in-depth analysis of the Zootechnical Sector entitled: "KEY FIGURES OF ANIMAL HUSBANDRY & FEED SECTOR IN ITALY
(Edition 2019) of which we report the topics in over 160 pages of data
Part 1: The Italian Zootechnical livestock: general considerations
Part 2: Overview of the European and world animal feed sector
Part 3: Overview of the Italian feed industry

The research can be purchased both in the full version and in the separate single sections.
Pig farmers, dairy cattle and beef cattle breeders are going through a difficult moment. The sale of meat, milk often does not lead to a good profit and prices are definitely lower than they were a few years ago. The cost have increased exponentially and bureaucracy has created all sorts of problems in the management of farms. Effective measures are required in this situation: as is well know, the feeding con account for up to 60% of the total cost. For this reason and to reduce the cost it is very important to be helped by qualified and expert nutitionist who keep constantly updated on the latest nutritional developments. Cevolani Daniele s.r.l. Team offer the services listed below.
